can i just stop i monitor my bp at home on a 2 week basis and it is alway around 129 / 80 somtimes it shoots up to 140 / 90, but to be fair i do drink a bottle of wine per day, i know thats far to much, but i like it and dont really want to stop i enjoy a few glasses of wine after work, the high blood pressure is pure stress related as i run my own business

I think it might be possible to stop David but you should really only do it after speaking to your doctor. It partly depends on which blood pressure medications you are taking. Some can be stopped quickly but others need a gradual tapering down of the dose.

Go have a chat with your doctor and then take it from there

Hope that helps

Hi, I thought you might like to hear this David. I have a friend who was drinking as least 1 bottle of wine per day and he stopped for 1 month. He dropped 1 stone in about. He was very happy and stopped the wine for 3 months and lost more weight. He then went back to a glass or 2 pr day and his blood pressure is fine now.
